We Have Cormorants

Not all the time, but in Spring and Autumn I’ll see some Cormorants around.

From what I understand, they’re largely disliked. Fish don’t like them because they eat fish. Fishermen don’t like them because they eat fish. Other birds don’t like them because they flock in great numbers and clog up the air space.

I don’t like them because they just won’t stand for a decent portrait. Still, they’re kind of interesting. I’ve never met another duck that perched in trees. They can also dive under the surface and swim underwater. It’s safe to say they’re just totally weird.

  1. Great shot. Lovely birds, incredible clowns. I have caught them posing, more like showing off.

  2. Amazing capture! You’ve made the cormorant look very graceful (even if they are totally weird!)

    • Hey, thanks! Also, they’ll jump off a branch and then taxi on the water before lift-off instead of just flying upward like a regular duck. Goofballs!
