Critter in the Rocks

There’s a Green Grape arbor on the path behind where I usually see a chipmunk at a park near here.

The grapes this Summer were very tart, rather sour, unusually crunchy, and just not at all what I’m used to in a grape, but I’d sample them as I walked by all the same.

On the other side of the arbor is a long hand-made rock ledge that’s maybe 18 inches by 25 feet (1/2 meter by 8 meters).   A chipmunk lives somewhere in those rocks, but he or she is not hanging out there every day. Maybe one in five visits, that’s when I get to photograph the chipmunk.

As it turns out, the grapes were not sour; I was just early.
They’re concords!

Do you think anyone would actually steal maybe, say, for example.. about 200 grapes… from a public park? Maybe I’ll get back to you on that in a couple of weeks when they’re perfectly ripe.
