Egrets in The Rapids

Herons and Gulls aren’t the only things that hang out in The Rapids. Fishing is equally good there for the Great White Egrets, so I hang out there and fish for Egrets while they hang out there and fish for fish. It’s a system that works.

Egrets, Swans and Gulls are difficult to expose when they’re in the sun because their white feathers are so many times brighter than the surrounding area. Left alone, the camera will record them as glowing, white, bird-shaped blobs. The only way to get some detail is to underexpose quite a bit and that’s why the background always goes to near black, which is just fine with me.
