The Canvasbacks

These were the two ducks in the little lagoon when the coyote scampered up the hill and stopped to examine me, or pose, or both.

Eventually the ducks swam o’so casually across my bow and sat on a log to take a nap.

My heart rate had returned to near normal by this time and the ducks let me photograph them at great length, which was equally bizarre as seeing a coyote at this site because non-native ducks are usually nothing but a rapidly-beating flurry of feathers receding into in the distance.
