Green Heron II

You can look at a previous post here (August 4th) that features a Green Heron stalking minnows but you’ll never figure out how the heck they store that long neck inside their body.

I got a shot yesterday where the dude’s neck is outstretched and I, also, simply cannot figure it out.

Where does it go? A hollow-bodied bird? Dang, they’re cool!

I have been exploring new blogs this week with a focus on wildlife – some of us are lucky enough to have an abundance of birds, insects and small mammals (even a snake this last week!) But some do not get the opportunity which is why wildlife photographers have a huge task to bring them to us. Like this beautiful bird.
