Gowpen Monkeys

Indiana has monkeys like Ohio has chipmunks. They steal picnic food like sea gulls, nest in the roof gutters, and can be found sitting on almost every signpost along the interstate.

These two were raiding my spinach garden after dropping in on my gardener, Ziggy, while he slept in his carriage house apartment. Once startled to wakefulness, Ziggy threw a jar of Murphy’s Oil Soap at one of them, which wound up breaking the remains of the open window that gained them entry.
