Wildlife Photography from the Midwest USA

It seems that baby Mallards and baby Wood Ducks both have the same dark stripe behind their eyes so I can’t tell the difference between the two kinds unless their mom is around.

Mom wasn’t around this time.

This one was in no danger from me while the two of us paddled around the river, but there are hawks and eagles in the area and I think a little duck would make a tasty little snack.

(I mean for a hawk or an eagle, not so much for me. I prefer tuna on flatbread.)
